Bambu Lab H3C — Nine Tools, One Machine

A true tool changer: nine PrintTools, each with its own filament path and heater, switching material in as little as six seconds.

Conventional multi-material printing means retracting one filament before loading the next, and paying for it in purge waste and time. The H3C’s Swaptek system keeps all nine materials loaded, preheated and ready. Active Pre-Heat warms the incoming nozzle while the current one is still printing, so a tool change takes 3.4 seconds and a full material switch about 6 seconds — with purge as low as 0.038 g.

What it does differently

• Nine materials in a single print — nine dedicated PrintTools, each with its own heater and filament path, and CMYKW five-colour mixing for full-spectrum prints from a handful of spools
• Mixed nozzle sizes at once — carry 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 mm together; Bambu Studio plans a toolpath where each nozzle prints at the layer height that suits it
• FlexFeed extruder — prints TPU as soft as 75A at up to 3× the flow rate, and takes 2.85 mm filament as well as 1.75 mm for greater buckling resistance
• AMS 3H built in — nine sealed slots feeding automatically, with a 2-slot 85°C dryer for PA, PET and TPU that can dry while you print. Connect existing AMS units for up to 24 spools
• CraftTools (optional) — CutTool, DrawTool, DebossTool and more mount the same way and swap automatically, so cutting, drawing and debossing happen in the same job

Built for engineering materials

All nine hardened-steel nozzles reach 350°C, the bed goes to 120°C, and active dual-zone chamber heating holds up to 65°C to keep warping under control. That covers ABS, ASA, PC, PA, PPS, PET and the carbon- and glass-fibre reinforced grades. Four layers of cooling — CFD-optimised part cooling, dual auxiliary fans, a dedicated PrintTool fan and a chamber fan — keep overhangs clean even at speed. An H11 HEPA filter and granulated coconut-shell carbon filter handle particulates and VOCs.

Speed and accuracy

The toolhead and X-axis assembly are 40% lighter than the H2D’s, allowing 25,000 mm/s² acceleration and travel up to 1,400 mm/s with less ringing. The optional Vision Encoder provides an absolute optical reference so the machine can recalibrate against mechanical wear and hold motion accuracy under 50 μm across the build volume — years in, not just weeks. Full-auto calibration handles PrintTool docking, offset compensation and bed levelling before every print.
