MJF 3D Printing - HP Multi Jet Fusion Technology
HOW IT WORKS

The MJF Process

HP Multi Jet Fusion uses an inkjet array to selectively apply fusing and detailing agents across a nylon powder bed, then fuses them with infrared energy

01

Powder Spreading

A thin layer of nylon powder (typically 80 microns) is spread evenly across the build platform.

02

Fusing Agent Application

An inkjet array selectively applies fusing and detailing agents onto the powder where parts are to be formed.

03

Infrared Energy Fusion

Infrared energy is passed over the build bed, fusing only the areas where agents have been applied.

04

Layer by Layer

The process repeats layer by layer until all parts are complete, then parts are cooled and extracted from the powder cake.

WHY CHOOSE MJF

Production-Grade Performance

HP Multi Jet Fusion delivers functional parts with consistent mechanical properties, fine detail, and smooth surfaces

High-Speed Production

Print thousands of parts in a single build with industry-leading speed and throughput

Functional Strength

Produce isotropic parts with consistent mechanical properties in all directions

No Support Structures

Powder bed acts as self-support, enabling complex geometries without support removal

Cost-Effective at Scale

Lower per-part cost for medium to high volume production runs compared to injection molding
