Bambu reformulated PETG Basic so it now matches PLA Basic for strength while keeping the impact resistance PETG is bought for. That combination makes it the sensible default for structural household parts and practical tools — brackets, wall hooks, holders, clips — that have to carry load without shattering the first time they are dropped.

Why pick PETG Basic

• Built for outdoors — strong resistance to water, UV and temperature, at a price that makes it practical for garden labels, bathroom fittings and outdoor hardware
• Less stringing — lower moisture sensitivity than typical PETG, so surfaces come out smoother and details crisper

Printing it well

Run the nozzle at 230-260°C with the bed at 65-75°C. No special hardware is needed — it prints on any nozzle and any plate. PETG Basic bonds strongly to PEI, so let the plate cool fully before removing the part, or you risk tearing the bottom surface.

Dry before use. If the spool has sat in air above 50% relative humidity for more than 72 hours, dry it thoroughly first — 65°C for 8 hours in a filament dryer. Store it sealed with desiccant. Annealing is not recommended; the gain is small and parts can deform.
