Bambu Lab PLA Silk+ - Chrome-Like Silk Filament

Shiny like chrome, smooth like silk - with the layer adhesion generic silk filaments give up.

PLA Silk+ is Bambu Lab's upgraded silk formula. It keeps the mirror-bright, satin sheen that makes silk prints so striking, but fixes the classic weakness of the category: poor layer bonding. Improved adhesion means you can slow the outer wall down for maximum gloss without the brittle, delaminating parts generic silk produces.

Getting the best gloss

Lower the outer wall speed to around 50 mm/s - the improved layer bonding fully supports it, so you gain shine without losing strength. A concentric top-surface pattern further improves the finish on top shells. Dry before use (55°C for 8 h in a blast drying oven, or 65-75°C for 12 h on an X1 heatbed) and store sealed with desiccant.

Unlike generic silk filaments that trade strength for shine, Silk+ is engineered with improved layer bonding, so parts hold together while still looking brilliant: 33 MPa tensile strength, 75 MPa bending strength and 18.5 kJ/m² impact strength. It runs on any FDM printer at 210-240°C, is fully compatible with every AMS series unit, and ships dried and vacuum-sealed with desiccant on a 1KG RFID spool.
