Jamg He ASA Filament — 1.75 mm, 1 kg

The outdoor version of ABS. Same toughness, but it will not yellow, fade or go brittle in the sun.

ASA shares ABS’s toughness and mechanical strength, but is formulated with additives that give it exceptional UV and weather resistance. Where ABS yellows and turns brittle after a few months outdoors, ASA holds its colour, strength and durability season after season. Its printing odour is also lighter than ABS. For any part that lives outside — or anywhere hot — it is the better choice.

Why choose ASA

  • Extraordinary UV and weather resistance — withstands prolonged sunlight and rain without fading, cracking or degrading
  • Better temperature resistance than PETG and ABS — keeps its mechanical properties at high operating temperatures
  • Remarkably tough — high impact strength, resists cracks and fractures from drops and stress
  • Lighter odour than ABS while printing
  • Works with mainstream FDM printers; 1.75 mm on a 1 kg spool

Recommended printing parameters

  • Nozzle: 240-270°C
  • Build plate: 90-110°C — use a glue stick or hairspray for first-layer adhesion
  • Print speed: 40-100 mm/s for best quality and reliability
  • Enclosure: an enclosed printer is strongly recommended and often essential — printing ASA in the open very likely leads to warping and layer separation
  • Drying: dry before printing at 75-80°C for 4-6 hours, then store sealed with desiccant

Who should buy this

Anyone printing parts for harsh conditions: garden and outdoor fixtures, automotive and under-bonnet components, protective enclosures, signage, and functional prototypes that must survive sun, rain and heat. If a part has failed in ABS or PETG because it sat outdoors, ASA is the replacement.

Note: ASA readily absorbs moisture from the air. Brittle filament that snaps, or prints with bubbling and stringing, almost always means the spool needs drying.
